Dear Family and Friends,

I hope you spent your Christmas holidays with your loved ones!  I wish for 2010 to be a year in which you build cherished memories and grow closer to the Lord.

Since my summer 2009 mission trip to Indonesia, the Lord has continued to open doors for me to represent Him.  This past semester I led a discussion group at Liberty University’s English Language Institute.  Of my eight students from all parts of Asia, not a single one was a believer.  Several times throughout the semester I had opportunities to share my faith with them, leading to great discussion.

Now the Lord has opened another door for me.  On January 18, I will be going to Seville, Spain both through Liberty University’s LU Abroad and the International Mission Board’s Hands On program for volunteers.  My task is to use the learning of Spanish civilization and culture as a means to build relationships with university students and from there, share my faith in Christ Jesus with them.  The classes I will be completing require research on Spanish history and culture, so I look forward to having local university students show me around and befriending them.  I will also be assisting in English classes at a local high school and being part of a new church start team.  Both of these are exciting for me, and I look forward to seeing what God does in my time there.

From my experience in Indonesia I learned to truly value the support of those sending me.  Had it not been for those who faithfully kept me in their prayers, my time there would not have been as much of a success.  There is no doubt that your prayers were heard and answered.  Spain, although a completely different dynamic than Indonesia, is a country in dire need of news of a personal relationship with Jesus.  I hope to be one of God’s faithful messengers while in Spain, but your prayers are imperative.  Not too long ago I came across Philemon 1:6, “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”  I ask that just as Paul prayed this for Philemon, you consider dedicating yourselves to praying this for me from January 18 until June 11.

Because of Him,

Andrea Flagg
