"Cell groups are voluntary.   There is nothing to join and there are no dues to pay.  They're here for when  you have problems, joys, or just an opinion you wish to share in a save and open  environment.  There are three levels of honesty.  There is honest, more honest,  and most honest.  We are hoping that you will try to be as honest as you can.   You can choose not to answer any question at any time.  The things said in this  group are confidential and will not be shared outside the group.  When our group  reaches a steady 15 we will multiply into two groups. This is a positive thing  because it allows others to join a group without it getting too big.  As you  experience the love and support that this group has to offer, you may one day  want to start a group of your own.  it is also important that we bring new  people."

Just for parents:
Why Cell Groups at  MPBC?

1.  The most effective way to  get teens or adults into church is through personal invitation.  With that being  said, most of us are afraid of inviting people to a church service because it  immediately puts the other person on the defense as they begin to picture a  large man pounding a pulpit and screaming while all the kids sit
quietly with  their hands in their laps.  Or, maybe they picture an un-cool setting of  children singing "Kumbaya" and getting cheesy stickers for good behavior.  While we know this is far from the truth, they may not.  So,wouldn't it make  sense to offer a small group setting outside of a church that a teen could more  easily invite to?  Who would pass up hanging out at a house with free snacks and  discussing topics relevant to teens?  Not only that, but these are discussions  led by their peers, not by adults.  How cool!  By the way, isn't small groups in  homes what the early church did?

2.  If teens are only getting  "preached at" and taught to, but never take on any form of leadership or ownership, what will happen when they graduate?  We love to boast about the big  numbers at all the big events, but why is the biggest gap of unchurched adults  those who just graduated high school?  What would happen if our teens
graduated  1) knowing how to share their faith  2) knowing how to teach or lead small group  discussion, and 3) knowing how to take ownership over what they believe instead  of it just being head knowledge?  As Ted Stump and others have quoted, "The Holy  Spirit that lives in our teens isn't a baby.  It is the same Holy Spirit that  lives within the mature adults in our ministry."  Well, now it's time to unleash  that potential!
