"Crossing Our Jordan"

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church was established in 1841,
almost 50 years before the City of Roanoke. The early Baptist
settlers of this community recognized a need and received God's
vision to establish a church. They were obedient to God's calling
and this hilltop church was born. Since that time, our church
and community have undergone many changes and expansions.

We've come to a point in our history where seeing God's vision
and being obedient to his direction are crucial to our future. It
is at this point God has placed a need before us, promised it to
us, and is only asking for us to trust Him. For Mount Pleasant
Baptist Church, this is "Our Jordan". The Israelites were
promised the land on the other side of the Jordan, but they
first had to take the step of faith that God would open the
Jordan to allow them to cross. After many years of prayer,
God has "opened our Jordan".

We are excited to see how God will change lives in our new
building as we are able to have a place for fellowships,
activities for our children, and a place to meet the needs
of our community.
