DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

FRIDAY
Wow...the final day is really here!  I couldn't get any sleep last night.  I'm not sure if it was more from being pumped from an awesome week or if it is the excitement for what's in store for tonight.  I thank all of you who have allowed your kids to participate this week.  We really have had a blast with them!  We'll finish this week off with a bang as we bring in the Powerhouse Tumblers.  These guys regularly perform at NBA halftime shows as they are one of the best tumbling teams in the nation.  Be sure to invite your friends!

Final day announcements:
1.  Don't forget...you get double tickets entered into the drawing for tonight's prize if you memorize your Bible verse.  Tickets for the drawing are also given for donating money to the local rec club or for bringing a first time guest.  Tonight's prizes include a set of NBA tickets and posters with autographs of all of the week's special guests!

2.  PICNIC/COOKOUT.  We would like to say thank you for allowing your kids to spend the week with us.  We are having a free picnic/cookout on Sunday @ 5pm.  We'll be at the Mount Pleasant Park with food and games!  See you there!

3.  INFORMATION TABLE.  Be sure to stop by the table in the back of the gym with information left from our sponsors and guest speakers.

4.  POWERHOUSE TUMBLERS TABLE.  The Powerhouse Tumblers will have a table with stuff to sell tonight in the gym.

5.  MAKE YOUR OWN SPORTS CAMP SHIRT TODAY!  Today's theme will be "make your own" or "wear and old" Mega Sports Camp shirt.  If you are able, we'd love to see some creative shirts tonight!

THURSDAY
Hey everyone, it's me again.  Man, yesterday was the most fun I've had in a long time.  I've enjoyed seeing all those kids having a blast and all the adults encouraging them throughout the day.  You all really "persevered"!  Well, just 2 days left.  It's never too late to bring a friend.  Tonight, we will have a VT basketball player, so you don't want to miss out!

Updates/Announcements:
1.  RAIN OR SHINE.  In the event that we have bad weather, we'll have our soccer players join our basketball players for an awesome time in the gym.  So, don't let the weather stop you!

2.  CHEERLEADING SHIRTS.  Tonight will be the last night that the cheerleading shirts will be on sale.  Most are around $15.  Only samples are available, so they will be mailed to you next week (no shipping cost).  Child sizes are available.

3.  INFORMATION TABLE.  We have set up an information table inside the gym with all the handouts we give each night.  You can also find other advertisements, coupons, etc. from those who have helped sponsor this event.  Be sure to stop by.

4.  FREE PICNIC/COOKOUT.  You all are invited to our picnic/cookout this Sunday at the Mt. Pleasant Park @ 5pm.   This is our way of wrapping up an exciting week.  We look forward to seeing you all there!

5.  WEAR BLUE TODAY!  Today, we invite everyone to wear blue shirts.  Tomorrow's theme will be "make your own" or "wear and old" Mega Sports Camp shirt.

6.  SPORTS BAGS!  Sports bags are still available for $5 or 3 for $10.  Don't forget to put your name on them!

ps.  Tonight, we are giving away family tickets to the Salem Red Sox.  Tomorrow...2 tickets to the upcoming NBA game at the Roanoke Civic Center!

WEDNESDAY
1.  SHOES.  If possible, send your child with tennis shoes as some of the kids were tripping over their flip flops (especially those in soccer).   Soccer players can bring cleats, as long as they have something else to change into when they enter the church/gym.

2.  AHHH!  WHAT IF IT RAINS?  If it rains, our soccer players will join with our basketball players.  We will make that call at the last minute.

3.  SHIRTS AND STUFF FOR SALE.  The Christian Cheerleaders of America have a table in the gym with lots of really cool t-shirts.  Most are $15 and will be available following the WED & THURS closing rallies.  They just brought samples, so they are taking orders (no shipping).  Child sizes are available.  Also, the Powerhouse Tumblers will have some of their stuff for sale following Friday's closing rally.

4.  FREE PICNIC!  We are having a community picnic to conclude our Mega Sports Camp.  All the food is free and we invite your entire family, friends, etc. We will be at the Mt. Pleasant Park from 5-8pm.

5.  WEAR BRIGHT/NEON COLORS TODAY!  Today, we invite everyone to wear bright/neon colors.  Tomorrow's theme will be BLUE!

TUESDAY:
Hey everyone.  Besides my stiff neck from flipping down the obstacle course, I had a great time at last night's pep rally.  Tonight...all the excitement begins!  Here are a couple important reminders and 1 HUGE announcement.  See you all tonight!

1.  Elementary parents...because of the heat, you may want to send your child with a water bottle.  We will have water regularly on hand, but you may still want to send one.  Also, unless your child is doing basketball, you may want to put sunblock on them.  Finally, please make sure your child eats before they come.  Feel free to send a small snack with them.

2.  If your child would like a sports bag to keep up with their things, they are $5 or 3 for $10.  Just make sure you put your names on them!

3.  Pictures and video of our event will daily be put on our webpage.

4.  We invite you to dress with our daily "themed outfit".  Today, we are all wearing red!  Tomorrow is bright/neon colors!

5.  Don't forget that we have big prizes each night that we are drawing for (including tickets to the upcoming NBA game in October).  Get entered into the drawing by bringing money to donate to the local rec club, bring a friend who hasn't come yet, or memorize our week's verse:

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever” (1 Corinthians 9:24,25, NIV).

ps.  Everyone will enter through the same doors you entered into last night.
